Since its inception in 2016, the Talk About Town series has provided a space for Downtown New Port Richey residents, business owners, and city staff to come together in an informal setting to gain new perspectives on local issues. The goal is to facilitate discussions on community-related issues and share insights into New Urbanist development and design principles, promoting positive change within our community.
Past sessions have covered a diverse range of topics, from introducing urban design and urban agriculture to discussions on local original music, the Hacienda Hotel restoration, historic preservation, gentrification, recycling, and human trafficking. You can find a video archive here–our last discussion of 2023 was quite engaging and is worth watching.
In 2024, the series will shift its focus to developers, public spaces, land development, and adapting to change within cities. Come join us as we delve into the driving forces behind local development trends and join together on advocating for better development decisions within the city we call home.
